Parents

Hello Parents,

Welcome to my main site.  I'm glad you found your way here.  Feel free to look around.  There's not a lot here yet, but it's slowly building.  There are, however, a few things I want to make you aware of:

  1. This is not a kid-friendly site.  I don't think it's kid-unfriendly, but definitely not kid-friendly.  Think of this site as PG-13.  If you have little kids, you want to point them to www.kids.bdcrowell.com.  There are even links at the top to take you there.  That site is kid-friendly, like a rated G flick.  There's not much there, yet, but I'm working on it.  All comments there are moderated, there's no store there, and there are no links back to here (and other links are carefully regulated).  It's geared entirely towards kids.  Look it over yourselves, but I think you'll be comfortable turning your little ones loose on it (especially now, since there's practically nothing there).
  2. My BD Crowell Facebook page is basically the same as this site.  Meaning, while I don't think it's kid-unfriendly, I don't consider it kid-friendly, either.  Since little kids don't belong on Facebook, I don't have a kid-friendly Facebook page.  And the D Lee Warren one should not be considered kid-friendly at all (see the next item).
  3. I write in two completely different genres.  I've divided them up by author name.  Books penned under the name BD Crowell are kid-friendly.  As they become available, you should buy them for your kids.  Books that I write under the name D Lee Warren are completely inappropriate for children.  They're horror and supernatural adult books dealing with adult themes and using adult language.  Do not buy them for your kids!  However, you're certainly welcome to buy them for yourselves.  Once I have them available to purchase, I'll have links to them here, and even plan to have a store on this site where you can purchase autographed copies directly from me.
  4. I have a secondary Twitter account.  I don't have a link to it above, but it's BD Crowell 4 Kids.  This Twitter feed is far less chatty than my main one, and it's geared toward kids and parents.  Since little kids shouldn't have their own Twitter accounts, I feel comfortable posting things that I think would be of interest to parents (and I don't link to it from my kid's site).  So, you should consider it PG, as opposed to my regular feed which, like this site, I would consider PG-13.  Sometimes there will be content duplicated between both feeds, but not always, so feel free to follow both.  However, if you don't have an interest in my adult writing, following the 4 Kids twitter account is an easy way for you to keep up with the kid-related stuff I'm doing.
That's all I can think of for now.  If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
