Hello,
My YouTube account associated with this email was disabled, which has resulted in loss of access to my annual YouTube Premium subscription.
The subscription was purchased for $139.99 annually, and I had approximately two months remaining at the time of the suspension that I am unable to use due to the account restriction.
I am not disputing the content moderation decision in this request. I am requesting a prorated refund for the unused portion of the subscription that I cannot access.
Please advise on how to proceed.
Thank you,
Brian Crowell
The next morning, Google Play support reached out to let me know they were redirecting me to YouTube support. That night, I received the following email from YouTube Support:
Hello Brian,
This is <REMOVED> with YouTube TV Support. Thanks for reaching out!
I am so sorry for the inconvenience. No worries, I am here to fix things for you. Since your YouTube Premium was cancelled prematurely, I am willing to provide you 2 months worth of Google Play credit amounting to $23.00. This will compensate for the fact that you weren't able to use the subscription for two whole months.
Is this something that I could do for you, Brian?
I will wait for your response. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out again. Stay safe as always!
All the best,
<REMOVED>
The YouTube Team
I accepted the offer, and three days later they confirmed that the credit had been applied to my Play account. I confirmed the credit in my Play account.
At this point, I’ve moved on from YouTube. I’ve already published or scheduled eight videos from my backlog to the Internet Archive and this site, with many more to follow as I update BMAC. Once I’m caught up, I’ll explore Spotify and then return to illustrating, reading stories, and making new videos. If you’d like to follow along as new videos go live, consider subscribing to the newsletter.
